Orange Walk and Corozal Town are the northern towns with a very Latin feel.
Surrounded by sugar cane fields, Orange Walk is a good location for exploring the ruins of Lamanai. There are a few small tourist class hotels and bars for guests to enjoy. This little town is known for its vigorous night life! The district is also home to the Gallon Jug Area and Rio Bravo Conservation which are both protected areas. These areas offer a couple off the grid jungle resorts that allow you to really connect with nature, offering many wildlife and nature tours. These areas are also a haven for birders.
Corozal is the most northem district of the country. It connects Belize and Mexico through the Norther Border. It also connects with Ambergris Caye through a short local flight. This tranquil destination offers views of the Corozal Bay. Offering small archaeological sites like Cerros and Santa Rita National Parks, it is also a great option for a couple nights before continuing travels to Mexico.
