San Ignacio is by far the number one inland destination in the country located 10 miles from the Guatemala border. It plays host to the most concentrated adventure and culture attractions in Central America and all are within 10 minutes to 2 hours travel and easily enjoyed ona day trip using the town as a base. The town is noted as having the best local farmers market in the country and Saturday is the optimal day for a visit. It’s also used as a gateway between Guatemala and Belize on a multi destination trip. Elijio Panti National Park is close to the town.
